Jewelry theif and the getaway car!

The other day Gracelyn and I loaded up to go get Mara from school. As I was gathering our bags for afternoon activities Gracelyn stole her sisters princess jewelry box out of her room. Before I knew it she was in the van and in her car seat. I told her it was the makings of a perfect jewelry heist. Gracelyn was thrilled to have the jewels but here sister was less then happy once she figured out they had been taken. It was fun while it lasted and my oh my she looks pretty with all those bracelets and necklaces on. Who knew plastic could be so pretty!!

Go Mariners

Friday evening Justy and I drove up to Seattle to pick up Matt and Beth and to catch a Mariners game. They flew in from Alaska to come visit us for the weekend. Matt and Beth are two of the most wonderful people you will ever meet. The girls just can't get enough of them and are currently requesting visits every 6 months.

Justin and I met them during Pilot training in Del Rio,Texas. Matt and Justin were busy learning to fly while Beth and I were just trying to maintain sanity in this little town. We all shared many good times and we all miss each other so much. Matt is a helicopter pilot in the Alaska guard and Beth is a Kindergarten teacher.

Thanks for such a wonderful weekend and for continuing to add memories to this great friendship.

V.I.P

Thursday afternoon I was invited to attend chapel with Mara. The school was recognizing her with a VIP award. The award was presented to her by the principal for always showing so much helpfulness towards her teacher and to her classmates.

Afterward the students that received awards got to go to the principals office for a snack. Here are all the award recipients from the rest of the school.

It was a very special day and as far as I am concerned she will always be a VIP in my book!

Great job peanut!!

Mara and the Boys

On the day of Joeys party we had a couple extras tagging along. Mason and Zachary who are Maras good buddies carpooled with us to the party. There was some time to kill before it started so we stopped off at the bakery for an afterschool snack. As usual they were being silly.

What a carload of CRAZIES!!!

Happy Birthday Joey!

Wednesday was Joeys 7th Birthday and we celebrated at Pump it up. The kids had such a blast and as a parent this is the best Bithday party destination. Everything is done for you and the kids are totally contained.

The kids enjoyed Pizza and cupcakes.
Gracelyn as you can see really enjoyed hers!!

Dainty as a Daisy

Gracelyn and Elle thought it would be fun to pick daisies and dandelions. They were just so sweet handing each other flowers. Elle is just so dainty and petite. I think we need to have more play dates with Elle. The girls seemed to really hit it off and I can picture them getting into some trouble together!

Elle was working on her yoga techniques as well. I should take some pointers from her because apparently she has it down! Crouching tiger hidden Elle!!

Thanks for playing we had so much fun!

Playing at the Park

Wednesday we decided to head over to the fircrest tot lot again to get some fresh air before the rain moved in. Mia and Heather met us there as well as Debbie and Elle. Mara brought Mason along to keep her occupied for a while.

The girls were having so much fun swinging, sliding and snacking. They thought they were too cool for school with their pretty pink sunglasses.

Then for about 10 minutes they decided to stick branches in Fred Flinstones toes. Apparently he had lots of toe jam!

Aren't lunch dates great!

This weekend we got to go have lunch with Jaclyn over in the Harbor at Panera. Originally we were supposed to have ice cream after the performance friday but it was getting late and Gracelyn was not feeling all that great.

It was so much fun catching up and getting to see Jaclyn with the girls. Mara completely worships her and quite frankly is a little mini me of her(it's a good thing). Now Gracelyn on the other hand..... Jaclyn isn't sure what to do with her. I think her memory faded quickly after having Missy Mara around all those years of what it is like to take a two year old to a restaurant! No more explaining needed right!!!

Thanks for a fun lunch date!

Whoa h2o

Friday night was a night that Mara and I had been looking forward to for a very long time. It was Jaclyns senior project night and for her project she put together a dance recital. h2o which is her schools dance team performed the majority of the dances but she also invited different schools and studios to perform as well. It was a night of really great music mixes and dance routines. I could hardly keep Mara contained! I think she was up dancing almost the entire time! They called the show Whoa and all the proceeds from ticket sales, refreshments as well as donations were donated to Young Life. Jaclyn became very involved in young life near the end of my time of being her nanny. I think between the rearing I was able to give her as well as her family and the path of God she found thru young life gave her the wings to fly big. I cannot tell you what an amazing little lady she is. Sometimes I feel like I have 3 daughters not just 2. I love you Jaclyn and you were awesome last night! It was great seeing Papa Glen too. You handsome devil you!!

Grandparents Day

Friday was grandparents day at school. The afternoon started with a performance from the kids. They did their bible verse as well as the song Love is something if you give it away.

Afterwards the children got to bring their grandparents to their classrooms to show them what they have been working on. They also made little books to show what the kids like to do with their grandparents. Mara is so lucky to have 2 sets of grandparents as well as great grandparents still alive.

Thanks Nana, Papa and Mammie!!
