Another one bites the dust

Thursday night Mara lost her second tooth. It came out very easily and it didn't hurt at all. We set out the many tooth fairy boxes we have collected over the years and mara drifted to sleep as quickly as she could. When the sun came up so did Mara and there awaited her sparkly silver quarters in exchange for the tooth. The last time the fairy left 4 quarters but this time there were 6. Mara was thrilled and put it right in to her piggy bank. Thank goodness for Tooth Fairies!!

Cold Nose.. Cold Popscicle

Gracelyn had a runny nose this week and wasn't feeling the best. On Wednesday evening I decided to let her have a popscicle. It was very obviously a big hit.
At first she was a little unsure about it but shortly there after she couldn't get enough.

I know how we will be cooling off this summer!!

Merk and Mac

On Wednesday I got to go up north to visit McKenzie in Bellevue for lunch. It was my Birthday lunch and it was yummy!! We ate at Taphouse and then went to 520 Bar and Grill. For about 3 hours I felt like a normal adult again, having adult conversation and not wiping up baby yuck from a highchair!! hee hee

It had been 6 months since I saw Mac so it was great to catch up!!

Humpty Dumpty

Gracelyn has moved up swim levels this session and in doing that she has learned the humpty dumpty song. The instructor has the kids put their hands on their heads, sing the song and then go into the water. Gracelyn thinks the hands on the head is the greatest thing ever. So.... she does it all the time.






Especially in the highchair.

How funny would it be to put my bananas in my hair while I sing humpty dumpty??

Mozart and Beethoven

Gracelyn discovered the piano at Mammies house. Every time she hit the keys she would crack up laughing. Mara was trying to teach her how to play but she just wanted to pound the keys.

30th Birthday Fiesta

On Saturday for my 30th Birthday Justins folks and brother had a mexican fiesta for me. David bought a Pinata for the kids which they loved!! Mara and Jack worked hard to get the goodies out. Gracelyn looked on from the inside and was mad that she couldn't have any!

We had chips, salsa, fajitas, rice and yummy chocolate cake.

GRACIAS!!!

Afterwards the kids climbed into Jacks John Deer tractor. Gracelyn just loved it!!

Game Day

Today was the wildcats first soccer game of the season and they won!! Last year we didn't win one game so it was very exciting to have taken the first game of the season. We scored 2 goals which was an accomplishment in itself.

Mara got to play goalie which she loves and did a great job at. She even scored a goal!!

Gracelyn cheered her sissy on from the sidelines.

Mani's and Pedi's

On Friday Mara and I decided to have some one on one time. We went for manicures and Pedicures. It was nice to have someone else clean those grubby little feet other then me :)

Mara picked out a light pink color and had them put little orange sparkle flowers on top of it. It was sure cute!!

I know it wasn't as relaxing as it is supposed to be for me but it is really fun! It has sort of become our every 4-6 week date. Hey it's cheap fun and Mara feels so special afterwards.

Summetime means soccer time

Summer is here which means soccer for Mara has started. This year she is on the wildcats team. We have an awesome coach and Mara is really into it this year. I think getting that energy out feels good.

Rough Day

Well today was a rough day for Gracelyn and for mom. As you saw in the past blog postings Mara had done some art work. On it she had put stickers, feathers, etc. as well as colorings. Gracelyn was just fascinated with this artwork and has been trying to get her grubby little mits on it ever since. Well it finally happened and low and behold it made for a very unpleasant situation. As Gracelyn took hold of the artwork she must have managed to sneak some stickers into her hands. Once I looked away she ate them and proceeded to choke. I launched in to mom mode once I realized she was choking. I did all the typical things moms do (patting the back, flippin her over, etc) and once none of those options worked I did the ol swiping of the mouth like I was taught in my cpr class. Well I continued to swipe and Gracelyn continued to turn more blue in color. I was at a loss so I called 911. They talked me thru the ordeal and gave me great pointers on what to do and what not to do. Then shortly there after police and medical arrived. Whew thank goodness for them!! They got the quarter sized metallic sticker that was completely blocking her airway out and she soon regained her coloring. THANK GOODNESS!!!
They tested her oxygen and pulse and everything checked out fine. Gracelyn even waved and said bye bye when they left.!

After that Gracelyn was tuckered out and she took a nice long nap. WHEW!!!

Afternoon Art

Mara decided to do some art up at the counter. Her idea was to design paper bag clothing items. We got out the glue, the feathers, the markers and the stickers and she went to town. Mara loves so much to do art. I think in addition to her being a rockstar and a singer when she grows up that she could be a fashion designer as well!
As Mara worked diligently heartley laid around and watched her hard at work. Rough life being a kitty huh??






As Mara was working on her art her sister had snuck into her room and was playng with her dollhouse. Gracelyn was so proud of what she accomplished while mommy wasn't looking!! Oh what the future holds could be scary with 2 girls!!

Gooey Gracie

Sunday night we went to MeeMaws and Papa no toes for fathers day dinner. The dinner served was Lasagna. Gracelyn just loved it and could not get enough. I think her skin was orange for 2 days straight! YUM!!

Early 30 Birthday Bash

So... that big 30 thing is fast approaching ( like in about 7 days) and my girlfriends decided that we needed to celebrate. I was told to be at Heathers house at 6:30. We mingled a bit.. had a drink and then Heather and I (whose Birthday it was as well) were met with a big ol party bus. Your party bus.com to be exact.

All our friends had arranged for this bus to take us out to the Clearwater Casino. Apparently that is near Bainbridge Island. All I know is that it left plenty of time for us all to have a really long fun time in the party bus. I was blessed with good friends, good cake, yummy drinks and great gifts!!

They even went as far as burning CD's with the top hits that were around the year I was born. What goofballs!!

Needless to say it was a great evening with many good laughs to look back on.
