Mom Ideas

This month I have had 2 projects that have been really fun in our house. The first was to take all the Christmas cards from this year and to make placemats out of them. It is a great way for the girls to enjoy all the wonderful people in our life and besides what do you do with them anyways?? Why not have a little fun!

Arrange them on a piece of paper and then either use contact paper or take them to Kinkos to be laminated. It is cheap, fun and easy!

The other fun idea going on is "mail time". My girlfriend Debbie came up with this fun way of letting the kids know they are loved. Every morning the girls get "mail" It could be something as simple as a note telling them to have a good day, a chocolate heart, a list of chores to do or a lollipop. The girls LOVE it and it helps us start the day out on a positive not. We talk about what todays date is and what we are thankful for in our lives everyday!

Trip to the dentist

Friday was dentist day. The girls had a great appointment with no problems at all. Dr. Sunns office is so fun that sometimes I wonder if the girls really want something wrong with their teeth just so we can go back more! This is Gracelyn goofing around in the tooth castle! Say CHEESE!!!

Cheesecake Factory

It seemed like this week was the friendship catch up week. Renee, McKenzie, Maya and I met at South Center for lunch. The girls were great and the baby was even cuter. I finally got my first unforced love hug from Maya and it was awesome.

Wednesday night wine night!

Wednesday night after many awaited months Mikki, Becky and I finally got together to catch up. Becky and I went to highschool together and has become a dear friend over the years. Mikki married my best guy friend Chon and I am just so incredibly grateful she did. They make each other so happy and she has become such a great gal in my life. Thanks ladies for the listening ears you guys are awesome!

Happy BIrthday Aunt Kathy

Tuesday was Aunt Kathys 42nd Birthday party at Meemaw and Papas house. It was a really big surprise when we found out papa would be getting a transport home to celebrate! Due to the strict rules at the nursing home regarding swine flu the girls have not been able to visit him at all so they were thrilled! I took as many pictures as possible. Papa looked great, he enjoyed himself and I think aunt kathy had the best birthday ever!

After the party at the house I got to go down to the beach to hang out with my aunts and my sis. Cheers!

Gracelyn's first big girl haircut

I know I know she is 3 1/2 but it wasn't until this point that I could part with those long blonde curls. They were turning into long blonde snarls so we got her cleaned up with a bob. Gracelyn and I had a mommy morning and I took her to Wild Child to get her big girl cut which was followed by a smoothie! Yummy!!

Baby Maya takes T town

Sunday after church I got to go spend some good quality time with McKenzies baby girl Maya. They live pretty far away so I don't get to see her as much as I would like. At first she would only smile at me from a distance but after a few minutes we were best buds. Peek a boo and the toy box seemed to be her most favorite activities. Maya is such a sweet, tender little soul and I just love her to pieces! Xo Xo

Shop till you drop

Last Saturday Mara, Melanie, Saige and I spent the day shopping at the Super Mall. Thre were some awesome sales and we stocked up. After shopping we grabbed lunch at Red Robin.

Melanie and I went to college together and have reconnected after many years through mutual friends. Saige is her daughter and there are moments when I think her and Mara were seperated at birth. They are total besties and have such a blast together!!

Thanks ladies for a great day of shopping!

Odyssey Fun

Last night the kids and I met Debbie and her kids at Odyssey for some romper room fun. The place was practically ours! The kids ran different ways the entire time and I am not sure how we kept up! All in all it was a total blast. I even saw Debbie do some somersaults. I think she still has it :)

VIP

Mara got VIP at school last week so we attended the chapel service and watched her receive her award. It stated that Mara is a hard worker and a peace maker. She cares deeply for other students and is generous and gracious in all situations.

Sounds like the perfect description of my little angel and she surely is a VIP in my book!

Happy New Years

New Years was a very chilled out relaxed evening at home with the kiddos. I rented some Wii games and we had all sorts of fun rocking out, dancing with the stars, playing Mario Brothers, drinking sparkling cider in fancy glasses and blowing noise makers at midnight. I barely made it but the munchkins had no problem at all burning the midnight oil!! The kids also made a great list of their New Years Resolutions. I am posting it so I can hold them to it!!

Happy New Year everyone.. May 2010 bring you all you wish and hope for!!

Science Center Fun

The week after Christmas Debbies family and me and the kiddos headed up to the science center to see the animation exhibit. It was a cold wet day outside but they kiddos had a blast inside. After a full day of fun we ended the night with a delicious meal at Bucca De Beppos. It was awesome and we can't wait to go back!!

Bathing Beauties

Karys, Haley and Gracelyn just love being together and this night they were testing out Gracelyn's new princess bath soaps and toys! They call themselves the 3 Musketeers and they run around the house saying "All for one and one for all". It is pretty darn cute!
