Tuesdays music in the Park

Sorry I have been a little behind this week..

Last Tuesday was the The Beatniks for music in the park. It is the best one of the year and the streets get jam packed. Mara fell in love with this band about 3 summers ago and hasn't missed a show yet. Last year we finally got the t-shirt and they liked her so much they gave her a tamborine. This year all the kiddos got shirts and it was nothing but dancing and singing for almost 2 hours.

Gracie got a hold of Daddys headset. I think she wore them almost the entire day. This picture was just priceless. What a beauty with those baby blues!!

Family Reunion Picnic

Every year when I was little my family would have a once a year family picnic out at Dash Point. I am not really sure why but we stopped doing it. This year we decided to kick it back into gear and keep it going. Everyone showed up for food, games, beach and fun. It was a beautiful afternoon and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Gracie loved the sand as always.... How lucky am I to have such a wonderful family! The girls attempting badmitton.. Very funny! Daddy and Gracie eating some yummy BBQ Had to capture this.. I thought she looked gorgeous! Mara and Tavi soaking up some rays

Airshow 2008

Friday afternoon at McChord was family day so we got to go in before the rest of the crowds and get a peek at the planes and shows before the public. The girls had a blast and loved the roar of the Thunderbirds. They are absolutely amazing and make me want the need for speed. Having gone thru pilot training with Justin I know the sacrifices these individuals have made and they truly are the best of the best. Here are some pics of our afternoon.

Zoobilee

Friday night was the annual fundraiser for the zoo. This year I got to go with my girlfriends and a couple of their hubbys. It was such a blast! There was good food, great drinks and a whole lotta dancing going on. I ran into people I had not seen in years which made it even greater.

Circus Circus... Camp

I forgot to post that the other night we went to the circus with a bunch of our friends. It is pretty interesting how much the circus has changed since I was a kid. The kiddos still loved it which is all that matters!!

Gracelyn just could not get enough cotton candy. I am thinking it is because I do not give my children this type of stuff. Ah what the heck.. It is the circus!!

There were 4 motorcycle guys in this. It was pretty cool!!

And as always the kids just loved having my brother around to completely terrorize.

Then I decided to be super mom and have a campout in the backyard. Oh yes we set up the tents, blew up the air mattresses, made the beds, named the camp, told stories in the dark with the flashlights, and froze our butts off. It was all so worth it to hear the giggles and stories the next morning about our campout. Here are some pics of the little campers fast asleep.

Air Show

If anybody is interested McChord is hosting a huge airshow this weekend. It is open to the public and will be so much fun. The Thunderbirds will arrive Friday afternoon with practices that day and actual shows Saturday and Sunday at noon.

Let the munchkins come crawl around the airplanes and learn a little bit about the sacrifices these men and women make everyday just so we can have our freedom. It is a wonderful thing and we should embrace it.

Justin will be giving tours of his plane (C-17) but the squadron (313th) will be running a hot dog stand. Come support them all and enjoy a fun filled family event.

Call me if you are headed that way because we will be out there all weekend long!!
