Sound to Narrows

This morning was our annual sound to narrows event. I have been taking my family to this event to participate for many years now. Mara began all those years ago with the diaper dash and is now so easily cruising thru with the 2k shuffle. I heard noises being made about her tackling the 5k next year. hmmm?? I am sure she would kick my butt!

Anyways here are just some photos fromour wonderful morning out. I encourage everyone to participate in this family fun filled event.

See you at the finish line next year!!

TOA

After our graduation celebration Joeys Dad and I along with Mara, Joey, Zach, MacKenzie and Gracie all went to the beach at TOA. It was wonderful and we were the only ones there. The kids played in the sand, dug for crabs, found fish bones and ran wild and free to their hearts content!

I love sitting on the blanket watching them as I try to capture their innocence and free spirit. I think as adults we lose the ability to express it but it is always there, bottled inside each one of us.

Spread your wings little ones!

Congratulations Graduate

Well today was the big day that Mara graduated from Kindergarten. It is hard to believe that she is now a "first grader".

The super seven shared a riddle with us as well as a song for the last time together. Mara received the award for the most adaptable and for being a good friend to all. It was a very sweet graduation and I found tears in my eyes multiple times.

This year turned out to be the best ever and we are so thankful for Mrs. Thoburn. What a blessing she was and is to have in our lives.

I can hardly wait to see what next year will bring. Congrats graduates and have an awesome summer!

As the chalk on the board says.. "Go with God". What wonderful words of advice for these lil graduates.

Field Day

As the school year winds down it is time for that fun filled event we all know and love called field day. This year I volunteered to help with an event and it was so much fun. I was in charge of musical hula hoops and the limbo. The kids loved it!

Mara enjoyed all the events and she said she could hardly wait for next year so she could do it again.

There was of course the tug of war, water balloons, obstacle course, sac races and drawing races. All the children received an award and it was followed up with some yummy Popsicles. Great Job First Pres Kids. You are the best

Rough Week

Gracelyn has had a rough go of it lately. The docs are trying to get to the bottom of it and hopefully we will have answers soon. This week her eyes puffed up and it appears that she has some sort of allergies. I will keep you updated on the outcome. This was her at her worst so hopefully in a few days I will be able to post her at her best! I love this little muffin so much and I hate to see her so ill. Today she ate a yogurt so we are making progress!

Congrats Jaclyn

Today our hats were off to Jaclyn as she graduated highschool. The celebration took place at the Chopps house and my oh my was it a party. There were people I had not seen in years who were all there to celebrate the accomplishment of this amazing young girl.

Jaclyn.. I know I have told you a million times but you are such an amazing girl whom I look up to, I want my girls to look up to and whom I am so proud of. You are one of my closest friends yet I look at you like a sister and a daughter. Aim for the stars because in doing so I know you will reach all your dreams. I love you so much and thanks for continuing to keep me young and proud! There is never a moment in my life where I wouldn't love to share those tears with you. It's what we do... right???

Jaclyn is continuing her education at Western Washington University where she will study journalism.

Jaclyn, Christian(her boyfriend) and some of the other kids were teaching Mara to do cartwheels and to play crouquet.

Congratulations Gig Harbor Tides Class of 2008.

I am so lucky to have been blessed with so many wonderful people in my life. Thanks for everything you have done for me, my life would not be the same without all of you in it!!
