Art Museum

Today I got to go on a field trip with Maras class to the Tacoma Art Museum. There were many great glass pieces to see and learn about. The kids got to learn how they blow the glass but then they also got to learn about textures and creating art. After the tour the kids even got an opportunity to create their own masterpieces. I always feel so lucky when I am able to be apart of these special times with my daughter. Mara is so blessed to have such a wonderful class and fantastic teachers!!

Rockin Rollin

Daddy brought home some new toys for the family. Rockband 2 for the wii!! This has pretty much been Mara and J's position since we got it. I tried but was unsuccessful and got kicked out of the band :( Glad they are having fun!!

Where's Gracie???

The kitchen cupboard seem to be Gracelyn's favorite hiding space lately. I am constantly finding her sitting in the cupboard and giggling because she thinks I don't know where she is. Or she says.. "mommy come find me".. It is so darn cute when she plays like this. I grabbed the camera to catch her in the act and she continued to be goofy and make funny faces! You gotta love this little love bug...

Cat in a box

After my Costco run I put this box on the couch and it was quickly occupied by Heartley. Thought these were cute pics of my pretty kitty!!

Is Gracie there??

This morning the phone rang and the little voice on the other end said. "Hi is Gracie there??".." I wanna play with Gracie today.."

It was Mia and for about the next 10 minutes this was Gracelyn's position. Not really sure what they were saying but I am sure they understood perfectly. The final words were "sure", "ok", "Bye Mia.. I love you".

How cute is that??? I had to take pictures because she looks so big girl!

New Years dinner

New Years day Tami and James along with baby Addyson came over for dinner. Addy is getting so big and is as cute as can be. Gracelyn wanted to practically crawl inside of her she was so excited! Mara and MacKenzie were good little mother hens as they held her and got her to giggle. Tami and James are having so much fun with little Addyson and it is so fun to see. Thanks guys for a fun evening....

Happy New Year!!

Last night Justin and I were headed for a night out. No real plans other then dinner with friends but something fun to ring in 2009. Justins folks had asked to babysit and ring in the new year with the girls at our house. They were having sparkling apple cider and warm oatmeal cookies... Yum

We headed out, picked up Genny and Brad and went to El Toro for dinner. I really wanted Masa because it is my favorite but they were having a big bash there and we could not get in. The evening was full of adult conversation pretty much about my kids and how I think Genny and Brad should have kids. Just seems like even when I am away I can't get away. They are such a big piece of me that sometimes they are all I think or even care about. 2 Margaritas and a taco salad later we were yawning and wondering what the night would bring. It went something like this..

Back to Brad and Gennys for a glass of champagne and directly home beacuse we could not keep our old eyes opened. It was 11:15 when we pulled into our driveway.. WHAT???? Babysitter... night out..... what is wrong with us!

Mara was sleeping(excuse me.. resting her eyes as she says)on the couch, Gracelyn was in her crib asleep and Nana and Papa were on the couch watching the space needle festivities. I quickly ran in, snugged Mara up on the couch, grabbed an oatmeal cookie and a sparkling cider and rang in the new year with the ones I love. It was 12:02 and Mara was back asleep and we were quick to follow..


Justin was freezing so he stole my bathrobe.. what a dork!!
