Thr girls and I decided to do gardens this year. Mara spent most of the day weeding and getting the soil ready for our vegetables and flowers. Gracelyn was mostly interested in filling and refilling the watering can. The strawberries from last year are already going crazy so we decided to leave them. In a short time we will have peas, cucumbers, tomatoes and some gorgeous flowers.
Last week Chon and Mikki had me over for a delicious dinner. Chon and I have been friends since we were in 7th grade. We share the same Birthday and have always stuck by each others side thru thick and thin. Chon grew up always saying he would never marry. Guess what?? He did and boy did he hit the jackpot. Mikki is a peach and has become a very close friend to me.
While we were there I was able to snap some great pics of Puccini their Great Dane. I just love him and his facial expressions.
For the last few weeks Mara and her friends have been coming over and practicing for the Talent Show. The girls picked a country song by Josh Turner called Why don't we just dance. It was so fun having them practice and it really brought me back to my dancing days. I love it that Mara enjoys performing as much as I did! I will post pictures from the actual talent show later.
My mothers day was made special by my two little munchkins. I was blessed with Mothers Teas, flowers and trips to the beach.
Gracelyns class made us books, painted pots with plants and sang us beautiful sweet songs. Maras class baked us yummy goodies, planted flowers and recited bible versus for us. The actual day of Mothers day was spent with the girls down at the beach and at the park. We threw rocks, tossed the frisbee and picked flowers. My girls spoiled me with their little tokens of love and what else could a mamma ask for?
Thank you Mara and Gracelyn for choosing me to be your mommy. I feel like the luckiest person in the world because of it. You have helped me grow in ways I never thought possible and have taught my heart to love more then I ever thought it could.
I have been asked to babysitt, housesitt and dogsitt but never in my life have I ever been asked to frog sitt. I guess theres a first for everything.
Debbie and the kids went away for the weekend and we were asked to watch Tally Tally and Charlie Brown. It was green, slimy and stinky but so much fun!
The other day I made Gracelyn a tent in the dining room. I set her up, got her snacks and snuggie stuff. Before I knew it she was fast asleep and as precious as can be. Oh how I still love nap time!
