Proud as can be

Yesterday was a very emotional day for me. On the heels of my 30th aproaching I was also blessed with Michael graduating highschool. Michael and Jaclyn are the kids that I was a nanny for all thru college and beyond. The family had a big party at Canterwood and the girls and I attended. I am so proud of Michael and his accomplishment. What a great kid!! Michael will be attending Montana State next year where he is going to play football.

I started watching the kids when I was 19!! Where does the time go!! I was in college when Michael was in elementary school. Jaclyn will follow next year as her senior year approaches here as well.

It is so rewarding to know that I had a hand in how these kiddos turned out. I must say that I give myself a pat on the back because man are they great!! I am so proud to know that they are and always will be a part of my family.

Good Luck Bub!!

Swinging the day away

Today we went to the park with Jocelyns kids Mallory and McKenna. The big girls were off playing while the little ones kept each other busy. At first they went swinging which Gracelyn just loved. I heard giggles out of her every time I pushed. Mara and McKenna were swinging as well. I remember when Mara was so little and could not pump. Now look at her!!

After swinging we let the girls crawl around in the grass. They felt it, tasted it and were still completely unsure of what this green stuff was. After grass tasting Mallory found Gracelyns bottle. Now keep in mind.. Mallory does not take a bottle.. but you wouldn't have known it yesterday. They were fighting over it and as you can see Gracelyn won. Don't mess with Gracelyn and her milk!!

Soon after they were off to discover the picnic table. They were standing up on it trying to see what else they could get into. Fortunately it was just mommys car keys!!

What fun it is to have friends!!

The Spice Girls

A few weeks ago Mara went over to her friends house and played dress up. While she was there she put on this form fitting pink dress that the mother had sewn together. Mara thought it was the greatest thing ever and insisted that we go to the fabric store so mammie could sew her one just like it. So we did..

On Monday I left for work and much to my surprise when I returned I had the spice girls for my daughters. Mammie had extra fabric left over and decided to stuff Gracies little sausage legs and belly into this glittery stretch material. It was hilarious and it would not stay down on her. We had to keep pulling it down over the chub just to get some pictures. They loved it!!

What goofy girls I have!!

Uncle Ben

On Sunday after Daddy left we went over to Mammies house to play with uncle Ben. Well at least he will be their uncle very soon. Ben had this silly Bear hat that Gracelyn just loved. We put it on her head and she kept it on forever. Gracelyn was being a bit of a stinker and was trying to pinch Bens nose. Gracelyn has also started pointing as you can see in the picture. Any and everything she wants she just points to. It is so cute!! :)Both the girls just love Ben and I think it is because he he is just as goofy and silly as they are most the time.

Air Drop Daddy

Saturday night our friends Heather and Christian threw a little get together for us. Justin was selected to go to Air Drop school this summer and he was leaving Sunday mornng back to Altus OK. We are very proud of him and hope that he does well in his school adventures but that he comes home soon!!

Sound to Narrows

Today was our annual Sound to Narrows Race. Every year since Mara has been born our family has participated in this awesome event. In years past I have ran the 5k with Mara in the jogger and then she would do the diaper dash but for the last 2 years she has been running the junior 2k shuffle on her own. Last year daddy ran it with her because I was prego but this year it was my turn. Daddy strapped Gracelyn into the backpack and fired up the camera while Mara and I tied our laces and made our way to the start line.

The buzzer sounded and we were off. This year was a little tougher because Mara had a little side ache but she pushed thru it and we ran hard to cross the finish line. What a rewarding feeling it is!! Crossing the finish line makes every race so worth it!!! it is the reason why I keep racing after all of these years.

SO your probaly wondering about Gracelyn??? Miss Gracelyn was all set up with her number to crawl in the diaper dash. Unfortunatley the weather was horrible and after waiting and waiting and being soaked she had had enough and we had to head home. We saved her number and Mara planned to race her this afternoon after warming up a cozy ba ba and after a nice long nap.

Once again it was a successful event and we look forward to it again next year.

Preschool Graduation

Well the time has come where my baby girl is finally graduating preschool and moving on to Kindergarten. I think it is going to be harder on me then it is on her!! Thursday was the last day of school and they had a small ceremony for the kids. Each child was given a pre kindergarten graduation diploma as well as an album full of pictures from the school year. Mrs. Halvorson had something special to say to each child. Mara was told that she was a very special girl because she has such an imagination, she loves to learn new things and most of all she was kind. I think I had a couple tears in my eyes.

It seems that in forming your children to be these perfectly behaved beings we sometimes forget the good that we have already taught them. This was a good clear reminder to me that I am blessed with a great girl!!

I guess it is time for school supplies and backbacks. AGHHH!!!
