Soap Box Derby

Last week the girls nad I were over at Joeys house playing. Dave was working on this great old soap box derby car. Once he got it straightened out we of course had to give it a try. All of us.. My butt unfortunately did not fit in but the kids were just fine! Boy did they have fun!

Gooey Goodness

The girls and I made yummy cinnamon rolls last week. These are not from a rolled up can. Homemade dough rolled out and loaded with goodness! Delicious!!

Sidewalk Paint

Today the girls and I decided to paint up our driveway with designs, names and games. My girlfriend Debbie always does this for her kiddos and because of that my kids have been begging to do it at our house. It was really fun to share this project with them and to let their creativity flow. Mara made an under the sea world, Gracelyn told me she was making a zoo and I made a hopscotch. Thank you Crayola for hours of entertainment!

Music in the park

This week was the start of music in the park. Every Tuesday for the past 3 years during the summer the girls and I head out to the harbor for this fun family event. The kids run around, dance, eat and play while the music plays in the background. This week Gracelyn and Mallory just cold not get enough of each other. They were hugging, kissing, running, dancing and being complete stinkers.

If you would ever like to join us we will be there. I always sit to the left of the stage on the water side. Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00pm. See ya there..

Here is a schedule of the performers. Click on it to large.

Happy 30th Birthday Matthew!

Monday night we had a small get together for Matthews 30th Birthday. I must say that the food was sooooo yummy(tator tot casserole,7 layer salad, mac & cheese casserole, brats and fried cod)followed by the coolest cake I have ever seen. Yes, it was a hamburger and fries cake! Jenna always out does herself and is so stinkin creative!! This was truly a meal straight out of New Orleans! Butter, deep fried and full of fat!

Happy Birthday Matthew...Hope your birthday was wonderful!

4th of July festivities

Every year we spend the 4th of July down at my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Joes house down on 30th street hill. The day consists of playing, people watching, BBQs, freedom fair, friends and lastly fireworks. The girls were so well behaved and we even took a little walk down to the waterfront. Happy 4th of July!!

Happy 4th and a New do

Yesterday I took Mara to get a summer haircut. At first she wanted really short but she ended up with layers and I ended up with a daughter that looks a lot older then she is. Mara's hair is thick and pretty and falls perfectly into place. What a beauty!! Again I am scared for the teenage years!!

Gracelyn on the other hand is once again proving to me that she is all tom boy. I did her hair in piggies today with adorable 4th of July hair bows. Next thing I know they have been taken out and she simply just stuck her ball cap on in between her piggies and told me it was time to go. No frills with this kid!!

Hope you and yours have a wonderful 4th of July. It is my most favorite holiday and as always remember those that give us this freedom to be able to celebrate such a day! Bbq's, fireworks and days off are just perks of what this holiday stands for. Remember that tonight as you watch those big lights of beauty up in the sky!
