Finish Line to the 40th

Saturday morning was First Presbyterians first ever fun run. It was called the finish to the 40th. This title represented our 40 years of being a school. The weather was crummy to begin with but everyones spirits were up. By the time the finish line was crossed we had sunny skies. This was an event that I got to help plan and it was one that I really enjoyed. I hope for more participation and sponsorship next year to make this even bigger and better.

Tim

Friday night was the Tim McGraw concert and boy was it fun! Renee and I rocked it out with Lady Antebellum and Timmy. It was fabulous as always and we had awesome seats!!

Indoor Camping

Gracelyn asked me if I could take her camping. I explained that the weather was not warm enough yet and we would have to wait a while. That wasn't good enough so we decided to camp in the house. I made a tent out of the table complete with blankets, pillows, snacks and books. I ran downstairs to grab more stuff and when I returned this is what I found. Guess it was a really cozy camping trip!

Ace Ventura

When I got to daddys house the other day this is what Gracelyn was wearing. I could not help for a second but think of the movie Ace Ventura when Jim Carrey pretends to be a mental patient. In the movie he dresses in a big pink tutu, has crazy hair and is just silly looking. Gracelyn's free spirit and crazy clothing combinations are the very things that makes me love this girl so much. I don't even argue with her over the outfits anymore because I know this is what she likes and there is simply no changing her mind. I guess when you are 3 you can still get away with this stuff. We may have to revisit the issue in a few years. Don't ya think the Dora(had to have) aqua socks really make the complete outfit??

Now this is what she chose to wear to a Birthday party the next day. A nightgown... How lovely!

Planting

Thr girls and I decided to do gardens this year. Mara spent most of the day weeding and getting the soil ready for our vegetables and flowers. Gracelyn was mostly interested in filling and refilling the watering can. The strawberries from last year are already going crazy so we decided to leave them. In a short time we will have peas, cucumbers, tomatoes and some gorgeous flowers.

Dinner Party

Last week Chon and Mikki had me over for a delicious dinner. Chon and I have been friends since we were in 7th grade. We share the same Birthday and have always stuck by each others side thru thick and thin. Chon grew up always saying he would never marry. Guess what?? He did and boy did he hit the jackpot. Mikki is a peach and has become a very close friend to me.

While we were there I was able to snap some great pics of Puccini their Great Dane. I just love him and his facial expressions.

Talent Show

For the last few weeks Mara and her friends have been coming over and practicing for the Talent Show. The girls picked a country song by Josh Turner called Why don't we just dance. It was so fun having them practice and it really brought me back to my dancing days. I love it that Mara enjoys performing as much as I did! I will post pictures from the actual talent show later.
