Last week the girls and I along with some friends took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent the afternoon at Owens Beach. Miss Elle joined us as well as Joey. The kids built castles, discovered rocks and shells and the big kids managed to haul drift wood out of the water with their big muscles. It was beautiful, relaxing and so much fun to watch them all. Wouldn't be a day at the beach without a little booty crack!
Cheers to many more days of sunshine to come. We are so ready for it!!
Ever since Mara went back to school Gracelyn and I have been walking the waterfront with my girlfriend Melissa in the mornings. Well last Friday we went by ourselves in the rain and took a break to enjoy the water and throw some rocks. It is so fun to be able to have one on one time with her and to be able to watch her change and grow each day. I am certain she is loving the one on one attention too!! These are quick little moments that I am cherishing before this one is grown up and off at school like her sis!!
Sunday morning we packed up and headed out to Uncle Dave and Aunt Jen's beach cabin for the day. The girls had a great time with everyone. It turned out to be a beautiful day which we were so thankful for. The kids collected shells, played on the beach, found crabs and then we ate a yummy meal prepared by Papa Ted.
I unfortunately have an icky cold so I wasn't feeling the greatest but nonetheless it was a wonderful day full of family memories!!
My cute hubby... The 3 cousins (Mara, Jack, Gracelyn) The boys getting dinner ready..
Mara turns 7 on Friday so we had a small birthday celebration for her with chocolate pie.. Yumm!! We all had a funny face to express the yumminess!!
Uncle Dave took Mara for a Kayak ride!! She loved it!! And daddy found this crab shell that the girls were fascinated with!!
Remembering all the service men and women past and present. Thank you for all you do and have done! Our lives would be so different without your selflessness and strength!
Tonight we went to dinner and the beach with the whole family. The kids were in heaven playing with Mammie, Uncle Juju, Auntie Cara(baby Scarlett in belly) and Uncle Ben.
As always Gracelyn was fascinated with the water, rocks and trains. Mara of course was trying to see how many crabs she could find. Let's just say that this time to the beach she hit the jackpot!!
All of us headed to the beach. At first it was a bit chili but then the sun broke thru and we were able to have some fun. The kids and I played bocce ball multiple times, mara swam and danced around the beach and well Gracelyn just really ate a lot of sand. Oh well I guess thats what babies do right??
Did I mention the sand hole that juju dug out for Gracelyn. She loved it and don't ya know it was just her size!
After a really fun game of Bocce ball Jordan and Erin thought it would be soo funny if they threw me into the ocean. I fought and struggled but.. they won! I was soaked but it made for a good laugh!
