Sesame Street Live!!

Thursday morning the girls got a big treat! My mom and I took them to see the Sesame Street Show at the Tacoma Dome. The theme was When Elmo Grows Up.

Gracelyn is in love with Elmo right now so we knew she would be super excited!!

Once the characters came out she was clapping her hands and yelling "elmo", "hi elmo". Then every time elmo left the stage she would yell "where elmo go"?????

During intermission Mara asked for some cotton candy. I am usually a stickler on this and do not give in but I figured what the heck.

Gracelyn got a hold of it and man were we in for it. Gracelyn was a sticky, icky, cotton candy mess and she loved it!

After the concert was over Mammie got her an elmo shirt and balloon. Even though the concert was over you would have never know it by Gracelyns excitement. The balloon was enough to keep the excitement going the rest of the night. Fortunately the ballon will last forever and Gracelyns memories of the elmo concert will go on and on!

Fun in the Sun

Sunday was such a nice afternoon that the girls and I decided to venture out. I walked them up to the school near my moms house for some swinging and sliding.

This first photo of Mara reminds me so much of how I was when I was a child. I used to hang from those bars until I just couldn't hang anymore. Soon to follow will be the flipping around and around with one leg on the bar. I remember at St. Pats it was always a contest with the girls to see who could go around the most times.

Gracelyn was happy swinging away

and driving the boat!

After we were done at the school we walked back and decided to pick some flowers. Gracelyn and Mara love flowers and have a real appreciation for their beauty. It think they pick some everyday and bring it to either me or my mom. How Sweet!!

During the flower hunt Mara discovered a lady bug. Gracelyn was so interested in it!

I tried really hard here to get a cute photo of them looking at me and smiling but as usual I was unsuccessful. Maybe next time!!

Happy Anniversary!

Today was Gramma(meemaw) and Pappa's(pappa no toes) 56th wedding anniversary!

Here is their engagement photo..

and here they are today!

Looks like they still got it!!
Hope I have 56 years to my marriage! Only 48 years left and we are there!!

Today was also Nana's Birthday. Happy Birthday to you!!

The Garrisons

Laura is one of my closest friends and she is getting ready to marry a wonderful man named Doug. At first we were all being protective and were very skeptical of this man who was stealing our lulu away. I think it had something to do with the whole internet dating thing. I quickly came to the realization that not only meeting online is how you do it but also that Doug is just great!

This weekend his brothers were up from Portland for a visit. I had yet to meet them so we went down to The Ram for a quick beer and hello.
It was a quick hour but it was so fun meeting them and to finally be able to put a face with a name.

I have this sneaky suspicion that this is going to be one fun bridal party!! :)

Frst Pres Lions Play Ball!

Saturday morning was Maras first t-ball game of the season and boy she was nervous. When she woke up this morning she kept saying that her tummy felt like it had butterflies in it. I asked her why and she said it was because she was nervous and really excited about t-ball. By the look on her face you would have never of known it once we got to the field.

The first game was at Heidelberg on field 2.

This is her sitting and waiting in the batting order.

Mara picked the number 24 for her Dad. It was daddys number for all his sports in highschool and college. I guess they think it is lucky!

Now it was her time to hit!

The warm up..

Great Job my little lion. I am so proud of you and the team!

May Day!

Thursday was May day and at the Y they were letting the kids make may day pots. The girls were having a great time just exploring their creative sides.

I personally think they will be great additions to my gardens!

Happy May Day!!

Up and down round and round

Tuesday after toddler gym Heather invited us to go ride the merry go round at the zoo. The girls were so excited and they each hand picked their horses. Gracelyn and Mia stayed close while Mara hopped on the walrus that was behind us.

Riding it made me think of childhood. How fun it is and how quickly it goes. It was a good reminder to me to savor all the moments I have with my girls because before you know it they will be riding the merry go round with their kids. In fact I remember all the times I rode it with my mom as a kid. I am sure she was thinking the same thing!!

After we got off we went outside and this peacock had just opened up it's beautiful feathers. What a beautiful ending to such a fun ride!
